The Wicked Muse by D.L. Porterfield
What is to be said of the Wicked Muse?
The Wicked Muse is the artist with a diabolical mind, who uses skill to achieve superiority of a darker kind.

Who is the Wicked Muse teasing the innocent eye?
He is an arcane master with a stage on which to stand, a magician who hypnotizes with a trickery of the hand.

Who is the Wicked Muse stalking by way of a savage?
He is a hopeless Neanderthal with an ego to support, a hunter who exterminates for pure thrill of the sport.

Who is the Wicked Muse scaring the inner child inside?
He is a dark harbinger with a library of images to convey, a storyteller who uses simple words to manipulate his prey.

Who is the Wicked Muse taking lives with nothing to gain?
He is a menacing horror with a hungry bloodlust to fulfill, a ravenous force of malice who finds his glory in the kill.

What is behind the mask of the Wicked Muse?
A pain-stricken spirit whose only comfort lies within his art, one resting in the bed of Procrustes protecting a fragile heart.

Behind The Harbinger
D.L. Porterfield is the owner of Dark Harbinger Press and the editor of THE DARKEST SHADE: A chronicle of the Mysterious & the Macabre. He lives with his two cats in the foothills of the Laurel Mountains in Pennsylvania and works in Human Services. A lover of all things ghastly & ghoulish and hauntingly fun, he is both an admirer and writer of dark fantasy & poetry, as well as, classic and supernatural horror.

The Dark Lullaby
A DARK LULLABY is a personal revelation born from a past experience, which is dark in nature. Although a dark lullaby can be very painful, hopelessly complex or just plain frightening, it ultimately teaches us to reflect on our past so that growth can manifest in the future. Only the will and convictions of each individual spell crafter can determine how these dark crucibles will affect and influence that growth. I'm inspired by literary works and art, which haunt me with phantasmagoric imagery derived solely from the artist's own personal Dark Lullabies. I am most fascinated by those images that tend to be wickedly fun and sometimes even horribly morbid, presenting bizarre circumstances intended to provoke thought of morbidity, as well as, morality.
