SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
THE DARKEST SHADE: A Chronicle of the Mysterius & the Macabre is copyrighted by Dark Harbinger Press. All rights are retained by the respective authors & artists upon publication.
FICTION
We consider all topics and themes suitable for our content. We are interested in works of terror, mystery and all things that go bump in the night. Classic & contemporary horror, supernatural horror and dark fantasy are the themes we are looking for. Sword & Sorcery fiction is fine, if they have a dark and spooky edge. We are not interested in material considered Sci-Fi, Erotica, Romance, or Pornography. Payment is two contributor's copies.
NON-FICTION
We are looking for, but not limited to, interviews, book & movie reviews, retrospects, and articles about Halloween, paranormal investigations and any other topics plagued by mystique. We are not interested in anything preachy that attempts to bash specific groups and/or cultures. Payment is 15 dollars plus two Contributor's copies.
Format: Hard Copy only marked DISPOSABLE. Manuscripts should be no more than 6,000 words and typed (font size of 12) on 8 1/2 by 11 inch paper - double spaced with 1 inch margins. Include Author Name and Title in the upper right hand corner of every page. Include Author Name, Address, Email, Title, Number of Pages, and Word Count on Title Page. A Cover Letter is fine but not necessary. Mail in Manuscript envelope (9x12) and include a SASE for reply.
POETRY
We consider poetry of any length and theme, either traditional or experimental, as long as it is suitable for our content. Payment is two contributor's copies.
Format: Hard Copy only marked DISPOSABLE. Should be typed (single spaced) on 8 1/2 by 11 inch paper. Include Poet's Name & Title of poem in the upper right hand corner of every page. Include Poet's Name, Address, Email, Title, Number of Pages, and Word Count on Title Page. Cover Letters are fine, but not necessary. Mail in Manuscript envelope (9x12) and include a SASE for reply.
ART & PHOTOGRAPHY
We are interested only in black & white art and photos to be used for Front & Back cover designs, as well as, for interiors. Line art, abstracts & experimentals, cartoons, etc. are all acceptable.
Format: Art & Photographs should be sent in the form of a JPEG Image as an email attachment, with the email serving as a Cover Letter. Email should include Artist's Name, Mailing Address and File Attachment Name. Payment is two contributor's copies.
